The patent pending Firebox is a containment and isolation storage system for damaged electric vehicles susceptible to fires for tow companies, impound lots, auto repair centers, collision shops and auto auctions. Vigilance regarding the potential fire hazard is paramount when storing compromised EVs, not only to curb additional property damage but also to safeguard the environment and public from potential harm. Fires can erupt immediately upon impact in an electric vehicle accident; however, endless incidents unfold long after the battery system sustains damage. Extensively documented, thermal runaway can manifest hours, days or even months following the initial car collision.
How it Works
Place the at-risk electric vehicle into the Firebox, with the built in winch or trucks & trailers.
Observe for thermal runaway. Call 911 and let the fire department flood the firebox with water. Only limited water volume is required to sufficiently submerge the battery system quickly and safely.
Dispose of the contaminated water. Call your hazardous waste company to properly dispose of the water.
